Missing Active Directory Attribute Editor Tab

If you already have advanced features turned on and are clicking on the user to edit their attributes and the tab isn’t showing up most likely the domain has been upgraded from a Small Business Server to Server Standard. To fix this and make the Attribute Editor tab show follow the steps below:

  1. Open ADSIedit.msc
  2. Right click on ADSIedit and choose “connect to”
  3. Under connection point select “select a well known Naming context” and in that window choose “Configuration”
  4. Under computer leave as “Default (Domain or server that you logged into)” then click OK
  5. Expand CN=configuration, DC=[your domain], DC=local
  6. Expand CD=DisplaySpecifiers
  7. Click on CN=your language. (The language # can be found on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324097 for example US English is 409, so CN=409)
  8. In the right hand window locate CN=Computer-Display right click and choose properties
    1. Locate AdminPropertyPages, highlight it and click “edit” and add the line
